Documentation and publication of a Rossby wave breaking detection algorithm on GitHub. The tool was developed during my master thesis (https://occrdata.unibe.ch/students/theses/msc/406.pdf). In addition, the algorithm will be applied to the ERA5 re-analysis dataset, including the back-extension from 1950 until present.
Set-up of a risk model for surface water floods (SWF) in Switzerland using the CLIMADA model developed at ETHZ. The goal is to extend the online tool www.hochwasserrisiko.ch with the estimated losses associated with SWF. This project is a collaboration with the Swiss Mobiliar Insurance company and the Mobiliar Lab of the University of Bern.
