I am a feminist geographer whose research explores the intersections between bureaucracy and violence in the context of contemporary immigration and bordering systems. My work draws on feminist geopolitics, bureaucracy, state violence and critical border studies to explore gendered experiences of borders; I am also interested in the ways in which communities engage with forms of resistance, resilience and solidarity in response to oppressive bordering practices. I have joined the Social and Cultural Geography group at the Institute of Geography at Bern University as a Visiting Lecturer, as of February 2025. Prior to this position I was a Lecturer and a Research Associate in the School for Policy Studies at Bristol University, and an ESRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Geography Department at Newcastle University. I studied my PhD in Geography at Exeter University.
