Mein Forschungsthema ist die Erfassung und Analyse von Landschaftsveränderungen durch gemischte quantitative und qualitative Methoden auf der Grundlage von Fernerkundung und GIS. Insbesondere konzentriere ich mich auf die Muster und Triebkräfte des Wandels von Landnutzung und -bedeckung in tropischen Regionen. Durch die Anwendung eines transdisziplinären Ansatzes besteht das Ziel meiner Arbeit darin, die derzeitigen Landbewirtschaftungspraktiken in Richtung nachhaltigerer Produktionssysteme zu verbessern, Kultur- und Naturlandschaften zu schützen und unberührte Ökosysteme zu bewahren.
