The pLAB was founded in 2022 and is managed by Prof. Stefan Brönnimann.
It offers support to GIUB members with professional maps, graphics, layout and onlinepublishing in the instiut's publisher Geographica Bernenisa and the Bern Open Repository and Information System (BORIS Portal). Last but not least the team is resonsible for the weekly newsletter and the annual report of the GIUB.
A long term task ist the setup and operation of the archive (maps, glass slides, fotos, artifacts, documents, digital media, ...) with the objective of preserving the original contents and making them accessible.
