The pLAB was founded in 2022 and is managed by Prof. Stefan Brönnimann.
It offers support to GIUB members with professional maps, graphics, layout, onlinepublishing in the instiut's publisher Geographica Bernenisa, and archiving via the Bern Open Repository and Information System (BORIS). Last but not least the team is resonsible for the weekly newsletter and the annual report of the GIUB.
A long term task ist the inventory of the archive (maps, glass slides, fotos, artifacts, documents, digital media, ...) and the establishment of a structure for operation and conservation.
