Quantitative analysis of remote sensing data of the sensors NOAA/MetOp-AVHRR and Meteosat SEVIRI is the focus of the work in the group for Remote Sensing. This includes time-series analysis of the vegetation, the development of algorithms for automatic derivation of the snow cover and the aerosol optical thickness.
The processing of NOAA/AVHRR data MetOp takes place by means of a fully automatic processing chain, which was largely developed by employees of the Group. The necessary data is supplied by its own receiving station. An extensive data archive represents a variety of investigations.
