Laboratory

The cLab is a central facility for research and teaching at the Institute of Geography of the University of Bern (GIUB). Our diverse and state-of-the-art equipment and the latest analytical instruments enable research at an international level and offer a contemporary environment for the training of Bachelor to PhD students in the field of inorganic and organic environmental analysis.

The unique selling point of our laboratory is its extensive equipment, which combines "classical" and "traditional" pedological and sedimentological methods with novel and sometimes very complex analytical methods for organic and inorganic contaminants and pollutants.

In addition, we also operate a 'Clean Lab' (clean room) for metal-free preparation for (ultra)trace and isotope analysis of metals in environmental samples.

cLab Intranet: The cLab intranet page provides all relevant documents, guidelines, and information about lab operations. This includes the lab entry procedure, safety instructions, equipment responsibilities, and contact details. Users can find essential resources and stay updated on lab-related matters.
