Welcome to the hydrology group
The group, headed by Prof. Dr. Bettina Schaefli, focuses on hydrological process understanding of flow paths, storage and runoff, the development of new hydrological models, for reliable predictions of hydrological systems under change, as well as the integration of different data into these models, such as remote-sensing based data.
The developed methods are applied in various fields. Examples include flood forecasting, water temperature modeling, or water resource assessments for sustainable water management (e.g., hydropower) and ecosystem protection.
The group participates in research in the experimental catchment area of Vallon de Nant (VD, Switzerland).
