Prisca Pfammatter is a PhD candidate funded by the DOC.ch program of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) at the Department of Geography, University of Bern. In 2021, she completed her Master's degree in Organic Agriculture at Wageningen University with her thesis titled 'Beyond farming women: queering gender, work, and the family farm'. Her research focuses on how gender and sexual dynamics impact social sustainability in agriculture in Switzerland. Through ethnographic and dance-based methods on queer farms, she explores how queer farmers negotiate gender, sexual and farming identities in order to identify implications for a more socially sustainable agriculture.

Events:

  • Movement Workshops during the agroecology days

    • Embodiment Macht Ernährung: Bewegungsworkshop (agroecologyworks.ch)

    • Food is increasingly recognised as a central topic in feminist discourse, as it is closely linked to issues of care work, justice, sustainability and social responsibility. But what are feminist food systems? In this workshop we want to start with our bodies and develop an expression with our bodies for a fairer, slower, more conscious, more feminist food and agriculture.
