My PhD is related to the Hymes project (Hydrography of Mesopotamia). I am a member of the Geography team within the project, where my job is to help develop data models regarding the dated sedimentary stratigraphies, ancient watercourses and hydraulic data in Southern Mesopotamia (Iraq) in a multi-temporal manner.
This interdisciplinary project aims to collect and use geographical and other data to construct a hydraulic model of natural rivers and artificial canals for the area of interest from the 4th to the 1st millennium BC. Besides the Hymes project, I specialise in developing Throwshed analysis, a spatial GIS analysis that computes the areas reachable by projectiles shot from a given place on a digital elevation model (ballistics included).
